Giuseppe Arnaldo & Sons is the brain child of Maurizio Terzini and Robert Marchetti, fulfilling a dream of synergy in the traditional Italian experience and the modern Melbourne environment. It successfully combines the design element of Icebergs Dining Room and Bar with the concept of North Bondi Italian Food, their Sydney restaurants.
Maurizio Terzini is synonymous with Italian Restaurants in Melbourne and Sydney, originally opening Caffé e Cucinain 1988 which became the hallmark of the new Italian eating culture in Melbourne. Robert Marchetti became Executive Chef of Icebergs Dining Room and Bar in 2004 that synchronised Maurizio’s Italian hospitality with the simplicity of Italian Food.
The restaurant is inspired by a vision of a third millennium Roman Trattoria to illustrate a contemporary idea of Rome within the heart of Melbourne. Named after their fathers, Giuseppe and Arnaldo and featuring Robert Marchetti’s own Salumi Range, cheeses matured by Assineur Richard Thomas, and wines made in Italian styles by local producers De Bortoli and Scotchmans Hill.
